Whatever caused this Canadian woman to react THIS badly to barely missing a ferry’s departure, we don’t know … but she did, and this is what happened:

Not a lot is known about the origin of this video, or at least its subject, other than that she was attempting to take a ferry from Victoria, British Columbia.

The province’s capital city is on Vancouver Island, so she was headed back to mainland Canada, only to miss the boat by less than five minutes.

Her epic overreaction, originally uploaded to a Facebook page called "Spotted in Victoria," quickly went viral across a variety of sources and countries.

"She may have been going to a party. We’re not sure," Austin Singhera, the university student who started the page, told CBC News in an interview.

"This was on New Year’s Eve, so she was maybe coming back from Victoria for a party or a get-together or something, but she’d missed it by three minutes."

Opinion on the video is pretty split between the usual visceral reactions to these things – LOL, shock, awe, WTF, disgust – and hoping she’s okay.

A tantrum of this magnitude might have been fueled in part by something a lot more significant, right? Even Ariana Grande isn’t this much of a diva.

Obviously, we don’t know what she was going through, and the video was posted without her permission, so it’s worth at least taking that into account.

To balance this out, here are some other viral videos of people reacting to surprise events in their lives, and typically on a much more positive note …
