Let’s just start with this nugget: Castle Season 7 Episode 12 was titled "Private Eye Caramba!."
That’s genius. Somewhere, Bart Simpson is nodding his head in full approval.
As for the actual events depicted during the hour? This was the second consecutive installment that featured Rick Castle in the role of private investigator.
Unlike last Monday’s case, however, which found Rick going up against his former colleagues, this investigation gave us a look at Castle on his own. He was tasked with tracking down the missing purse of a beloved telenovela star.
Don’t scoff! It contained valuable information!
When you watch Castle online, you’ll see fun little tidbits centered on Rick’s new career, such as his revamped website; Castle learning how to canvass a crime scene; and Ryan taking on some of Castle’s quirks and traits at the precinct.
Moreover, the focus on Perlmutter (who is totally basking in Castle’s absence from the 12th) is permitting him with more openings to serve up sass.
That’s always a good thing.
Then there’s Beckett, who has reacted to her husband’s profession change with – how shall we put this? – aplomb: I’m just a girl looking for a private dick. Enough said, right?
The only downside of this episode was how quickly and easily the actual case was wrapped up, but does anyone really tune in to Castle for case details?
This show is all about Rick and Kate and those around them and that prompts us to ask: What do you think of Rick’s new gig? Are you enjoying it? Or do you want to see him back to solving crimes with Beckett in the near future?
