Is The Real Housewives of New Jersey essentially over with Teresa Giudice locked up? That’s the sentiment going around among the cast, apparently.

Even with Teresa Giudice hoping for early release (and very likely getting it if she behaves), her prison stint could be a death sentence for the show.

“At this point, The Real Housewives of New Jersey is essentially done,” an insider says, noting that. “Bravo has considered all of their options.”

“They don’t feel like there is really a show without Teresa. Whether the other [cast members] want to admit it or not, she is the star of the franchise.”

“The show simply wouldn’t be the same without her.”

While there’s been no announcement regarding Teresa or whether she got The Real Housewives of New Jersey canceled, it sure looks that way.

Giudice began serving a 15-month prison sentence on Monday in Danbury, Conn. Even if she is let out early for good behavior, it won’t be next week.

“Realistically, she wouldn’t even be able to begin filming until 2016,” the insider said. “Filming takes 4-6 months, and then production still has to edit the footage.”

“That would be way too long of a delay for the series.”

A second source won’t go that far … but pretty close:

“No one has begun any filming for [RHONJ]. The future of the series is clearly in jeopardy, as there hasn’t been any talk about beginning anytime soon.”

Yet another source says that while Teresa checking into prison would’ve made for big ratings – she declined to be filmed – producers are over it now.

“Bravo is done with Teresa and wants nothing to do with her family,” an insider said, adding that the whole ordeal “was too much negative press.”

“The Giudices were always demanding more and more money” to be filmed, according to the inside source, and in the end, “it just wasn’t worth it.”

Same could be said for mortgage fraud. Jussst saying.
