Dimitri Diatchenko, an actor who is best known for appearing on multiple episodes of Sons of Anarchy Season 4, may have skinned and eaten his ex-girlfriend’s rabbit over the weekend.
According to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s office, Diatchenko had split from his unnamed ex awhile back, but continued to reside with her long after their romance ended.
Over the weekend, the woman said she no longer wanted to be roommates and Diatchenko reportedly responded by stealing her rabbit on Sunday.
“Diatchenko skinned the pet, cooked it and ate half of it while sending her step-by-step pictures of what he did,” the district attorney said via statement. “When she returned, the defendant allegedly told her he would do the same to her.”
The actor – whose small screen resumes also includes roles on Bones and How I Met Your Mother – has been charged with felony counts of cruelty to an animal with a use of knife allegation and criminal threats.
If convicted, Diatchenko faces a potential maximum sentence of four years and eight months behind bars.
He insists he is innocent, however.
“This is all a misunderstanding. We got into an argument, but I didn’t kill the bunny,” Diatchenko told CNN affiliated KCAL in a phone interview.
He claims he set the animal free and purchased rabbit meat to make his ex-girlfriend think he had devoured her furry friend.
Even if that proves to be true, Diatchenko likely shouldn’t include it on any future dating website profiles.
