Ding! Ding! It is totally on between Christian Bale and…

George Clooney?!?

Earlier this fall, Clooney went off in a series of rants against The Daily Mail for publishing lies about him, his now-wife Amal Alamuddin and his supposed clashes with her parents.

Bale, however, tells WSJ Magazine that his fellow Oscar winner has to just silence any beef he has with the media. It’s the price one pays for fame and fortune.

“It doesn’t matter that he talks about it,” Bale says of Clooney. “It’s like, ‘Come on, guys, just shut up. Just get on with it and live your lives and stop whining about it.’ I prefer not to whine about it.”

It seems to us like Bale should direct this criticism more at Justin Bieber than George Clooney, but to each is own.

“Some people poke you like you’re an animal in a zoo, looking for a response,” Bale adds. “If you’re smart, you don’t give it to them. If you’re dumb, occasionally, like me, you give it to them. And then they’ve basically got what they wanted. I usually regret it afterwards.”

Bale should especially also direct this criticism at Alec Baldwin.

Bale then goes on to tell a story about how a man once stood outside his Italian hotel and said “obscene” things to his wife, Sibi Blazic.

“I know what he’s after; he has a strategy there,” Bale said of the incident. “Am I able to say I’m not gonna give him that satisfaction of angry Christian Bale coming after this man? But equally, he’s killing my humanity and my dignity as a husband if I do not, and he knows this.”

It’s unclear what Bale decided in that moment, but his overall point is simple: you always have a “choice,” he says.
