A legitimate ethical dilemma was raised on NCIS Season 12 Episode 8.

It centered on an ex-Navy corpsman who was charged with a crime… for saving the lives of two folks injured in a car accident?!?

Yes, a law actually exists that is meant to prevent unlicensed medical workers from giving attention to those in need. It’s meant to protect the public from posers, but this NCIS episode showed how it can be misapplied.

Once Gibbs learned that a veteran was under arrest for acting as a Good Samaritan, he did all he could to clear her name. And he mostly did, at least ensuring that Anna Dillon doesn’t spent time behind bars.

But the district attorney still made Dillon agree to community service in order to keep the law intact and not set a precedent that it simply be broken when certain situations call for it.

The hour raised many interesting moral and practical questions, such as: What if you pull someone from a burning car? Are you at legal risk? Could you actually be sued?!?

Elsewhere during the hour, as you’ll see if you watch NCIS online via the above video, we spent some time on Abby and her love life.

Bishop wanted to interfere, but Tony told her that the “Abby dating world is a vortex” into which one does not want to be sucked. She should just “let Abby be Abby.”

But is this really good advice? Didn’t Abby just butt into Tony’s dating life? Shouldn’t he return the favor if he has an opinion on someone she’s with?

Finally, what about Gibbs and a potential romance down the line with Carrie Clark? She’s the attorney we met about a year ago at this time. The hint was subtle, but it was there when she referred Gibbs’ father as being as challenging as his son.

When Gibbs agreed, she smiled and replied: "I like a good challenge."

But will our hero accept it? We’ll see if this goes anywhere on NCIS Season 12 Episode 9, which will be titled "Grounded" and which airs on November 25 at 8/7c on CBS.
