A lot was accomplished on NCIS Season 12 Episode 7, as this CBS drama juggled a trio of storylines in an hour that definitely played off the theme of Veterans Day:

The missing remains of long-dead Marine Sergeant Charles Kent has to be recovered.

The Gibbs-Bishop relationship took a major step forward.

There was an investigation into the murder of retired Master Sergeant George Hawkins.
We can start with the Case of the Week first: SNOOOOZE.
This typical investigation centered on a smooth operator who chose to kill a retired Navy man due to money issues.
He had a girlfriend who lived in Vietnam, too, which allowed Gibbs and Tony to look into the homicide while also paying respects to Marine Sergeant Charles Kent.
It didn’t help, either, that the villain was portrayed by, Aaron Abrams an actor who has made a recent career out of portraying bad guys.
The best part of the episode honed in on Bishop, namely the fact that Gibbs has let her get away with sitting on the floor while working, along with other probe no-no’s that definitely would have earned his wrath in the past.
Bishop finally confronted her boss about this special treatment and we got to see the two of them go at it for once. Gotta admire Bishop for not wanting to be handled like a China doll, for wanting to be seen the same as everyone else on staff.
Perhaps Gibbs can avoid getting an aneurysm now, too. He clearly had plenty to say regarding the topics she finally broached and had been holding a lot in since she joined the unit.
Elsewhere:
- We learned that Tony and McGee scored 58 and 63, respectively, on their probie exams.
- A cat followed Tony home, earning his affection… and then left him.
- For the record, JPAC (Joint POW/MIA Accounting Command) is a real organization, dedicated to the search and recovery of missing military personnel.
