The Canyons features a whole lot of Lindsay Lohan nude. It did not feature her at the L.A. premiere this week, though, as she skipped it to focus on her sobriety.
“She’s decided not to be here because she’s worried coming out of rehab [and] hanging out in L.A. for the weekend,” the film’s director Paul Schrader said.
“She has been on this Adderall for about five years,” he added. “It makes her speedy so she has to cut it with vodka. Now you’re dealing with a speedball.”
Probably good she skipped the event … and went to rehab to begin with.
“People want to hire her,” he said, though she lives in “crisis atmosphere,” adding, “Everything’s a crisis. And when it isn’t a crisis, she finds a way to make it one.”
As for her recovery process since getting out of rehab after 90 days in July?
“A lot of it’s up to her,” Schrader said. “If she creates a reputation of reliability, and that’s her #1 problem, she will have a career because people do … like her.”
Producer Braxton Pope recently visited Lohan at the Betty Ford Center.
“We talk all the time and I think she’s doing quite well,” he added.
“She’s very serious about her career and future work.”
Nolan Funk, who plays Lohan’s ex-boyfriend and lover in the film, which also stars James Deen in his first non-adult film role, enjoyed working with her.
“It was great,” he said. “We ended up having great chemistry.”
“It was a very positive working relationship. She seems really focused right now. I can’t predict anything, but as of right now, I think she’s doing amazing.”
