Mookie Blaylock is in serious condition following a terrible car accident yesterday in Atlanta – but that’s actually an upgrade for the ex-NBA point guard.

Blaylock was involved in a head-on collision that left a woman dead, as his Cadillac Escalade reportedly crossed over the median and into oncoming driving.

The reason why is unknown at this time – though a family member tells The Atlanta Journal-Constitution that Mookie has a history of seizures – but investigators do not believe alcohol was a factor in.

The accident took place around 1 p.m.

Blaylock was transported to Atlanta Medical Center and placed on life support Friday afternoon.

Blaylock played 13 professional seasons in the NBA, mostly with the Atlanta Hawks. He finished with career averages of 13.5 points, 4.1 rebounds, 6.7 assists and 2.3 steals per game.
