CBS has removed The Talk, a daily daytime program, from its schedule for the rest of the week.

This lineup change comes just days after fans began fearing the show won’t be renewed for another season.

After airing new episodes Monday through Wednesday this week, The Talk will be off on both Thursday and Friday.

“The Talk is preempted due to CBS Sports coverage of March Madness,” a press release for the show revealed.

The 2024 NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament began airing on CBS on Thursday at 12 pm ET and is planned to continue until 5 pm.

The same scheduling is set for Friday as well.

Along with causing The Talk to be removed from its usual 2 pm time slot, CBS’ basketball coverage also replaced new episodes of the network’s soap operas.

Both The Young and the Restless and The Bold and the Beautiful are off until Monday.

Y&R normally airs daily at 12:30 pm, while B&B is broadcast right afterward.

Like the soaps, The Talk is also currently set to return with a new episode at the start of next week.

With the NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament not ending until April 8, network TV schedules may continue to change over the coming weeks.

The Talk premiered in 2010 with hosts Julie Chen Moonves, Sara Gilbert, Sharon Osbourne, Leah Remini, and Holly Robinson Peete.

Now in its 14th season, Sheryl Underwood, Jerry O’Connell, Natalie Morales, Akbar Gbajabiamila, and Amanda Kloots are the show’s current co-hosts.

Fans recently began speculating that the show could be canceled after this season comes to an end.

The theorizing came after CBS announced it was working on a brand-new soap opera to add to its daytime lineup.

The issue, fans realized, was that there were no clear open spots on the network’s schedule but insisted The Talk made the most sense to drop.
