90 Day Fiance star Larissa Lima just wants fans to be nice to Colt Johnson so that she can move on with her life.
But she still thinks about her past and her mistakes — and says that she now regrets ever appearing on 90 Day Fiance.
Her ex-husband, on the other hand, feels very differently. Both explain why.
Over the weekend, Larissa and Colt held their dueling divorce parties — the details of which we’ve included at the bottom of this post.
On Saturday night, Larissa spoke to Us Weekly and they asked how she feels about her reality stardom.
"I do regret the show," Larissa admits.
"If I could go back in time," she says. "I would never do the show."
That is a stunning admission — especially from someone who benefitted so much from the show.
Notably, Larissa and Colt also did a season of 90 Day Fiance: Happily Ever After? that has yet to air.
But now she says that the presence of the cameras and producers magnified problems that already existed.
"I think the show accelerated all the drama," Larissa admits. "Especially with his mother too."
Colt’s mom, Debbie, cried after her first meeting with Larissa.
There’s no question that the presence of cameras can dramatically change people’s behavior and interactions.
But at the same time, Larissa is now a big enough celebrity that a Vegas gentleman’s club threw her a divorce party (and gave her an iPhone!).
Unlike his ex, Colt Johnson tells Us Weekly that he’s glad that he appeared on 90 Day Fiance.
"I really liked doing the show," Colt says. "I enjoyed my time."
"I learned a lot," he shares. "And I had a lot of fun."
"And," he continues. "The problems we had were not because of the show."
"We had our worst arguments when the cameras were not rolling," Colt notes.
"I loved her," Colt claims. "I married her."
"I sent my vows to her," he notes, then claiming: "And I wanted to build a life with her."
"It’s unfortunate that it didn’t work out," he says.
"But," he insists. "Nothing I did on the show was fake or enhanced for more drama."
That is of course very different from what we have heard from so many 90 Day Fiance couples.
That said … maybe Colt and Larissa just naturally had enough drama together that producers didn’t need to put their finger on the scale.
Ashley and Jay both said that they quit over forced fake drama, but would you really have to fake anything for Larissa and Colt?
What’s really interesting is how different their answers were.
But if you think about it, it makes sense.
Larissa gained fame and success from the show, but if she was looking for a love like her current relationship, she didn’t get it on TV.
In contrast, maybe Colt got everything that he wanted.
He may not be the can’t-miss act that Larissa is (even spouses who are both considered "reality villains" are viewed differently), but he’s famous.
Colt very notably got a lot of attention from women he’d never met before, especially while the show was airing.
In fact, he was flirting with them and claiming that his marriage was secretly over last year while he and Larissa were very much still married.
Maybe his current situation — a little bit famous — is exactly what he wanted.
It’s definitely, definitely for the best that these two are no longer together.
Their divorce really is something to celebrate.
