As you may be aware, Jill Duggar receives a fair amount of flak from her family’s fans.

Much of the criticism has to do with Jill’s parenting abilities.

Fans have accused her of being negligent and failing to maintain a clean home or prepare nutritionally complete meals for her kids.

But the harshest criticism has had to do with Jill’s ability to homeschool her children.

Detractors say Jill’s two sons are falling behind developmentally, and they believe the former reality star is troublingly unconcerned.

Typically, Duggars respond to criticism by burying their heads in the sand.

So it was a bit surprising when Jill took matters into her own hands and posted a blog entry about her homeschooling methods this week.

“Several people have asked what homeschool curriculum I am currently using with Israel. I’ve used a variety of supplemental stuff, but I’d like to give you a quick overview of the main things I’m using right now," Jill wrote.

"He’s still only 3 years old, so we try to have fun with it and not make it too hard."

That comment may have been intended as a subtle jab at the haters who say her kids are lagging behind their peers.

“Growing up, my mom used several different curriculums for different subjects and grade levels," Jill continued.

"Sometimes she even tried out a new curriculum when she thought a child might learn better with a different teaching style.”

This seems to be Jill’s subtle attempt to debunk the rumor that the Duggars are cultishly devoted to a controversial homeschool curriculum that teaches a number of outmoded, dangerous, and bigoted beliefs.

In response to the post, one commenter asked Jill why she’s chosen to homeschool her kids.

"For several reasons…nothing against people who don’t though!" Jill responded.

"My hubby went all the way through the public school system … I totally get that it’s not for everyone.”

Like all of her siblings, Jill was homeschooled, and her parents have made their disdain for America’s public school system quite clear over the years.

Which is why Jill’s closing remarks were downright shocking.

“If your boys request to go to public school, will you let them?” one commenter asked.

Jill responded, “Maybe. Probably will at some point for college.”

It’s unclear if Jill means her kids will go to a public school to prepare for college, or if college will be their first experience with public education.

Whatever the case, you can be sure Jill’s parents are less than thrilled by her remarks.

Jim Bob, in particular, has made it clear that he believes public schools are the devil’s playhouse … or some such nonsense.

In all likelihood, Jill will never send her kids to a public school.

But if she does — she’s in for a clash with her father.
