Last week, the world was baffled when Kourtney Kardashian had dinner with Scott Disick and Sofia Richie.
Now, Scott and Kourtney have maintained close ties due to the fact that they share three kids together — but Sofia?
Sofia is basically young enough to be one of those kids.
The 20-year-old model is roughly half Kourtney’s age, and not surprisingly, insiders say they don’t quite get along.
For obvious reasons, Kourt would probably prefer that the woman assuming a stepmother-like role in her kids’ lives at least be old enough to order a cocktail.
But remarkably, it seems Kourtney has come to terms with the current situation.
After more than a year together, it’s clear that Scott and Sofia are serious, and it seems Kourt has decided to get to get to know Disick’s child-bride-to-be.
“Scott never thought the day would come that he would be out to dinner with Kourtney and Sophia twice in one month,” a source tells Radar Online.
“He is just so relieved.”
Of course, Kourtney couldn’t care less about Scott’s relief.
Her reason for burying the hatchet has nothing to do with the Lord’s mental state and everything to do with her desire to create a more stable situation for her kids.
"It was a huge step forward for all of them, but it needed to happen because the drama was not healthy for their children,” the insider says.
"Kourtney wanted to let Scott and Sophia know that she is ready to accept her into their family,” the source adds.
A different insider confirms to E! News that the dinner went off without a hitch:
"Scott, Sofia and Kourtney had dinner together at Nobu on Sunday and it was very amicable," the source says.
"Scott and Sofia are very serious and Scott felt it was important that Sofia and Kourtney interact and bond."
Obviously, Kourtney agreed, but she reached that decision reluctantly after realizing that a reconciliation with Scott was no longer in the cards.
“Kourtney always thought without a doubt that Scott would come groveling back to her and now she knows she was wrong," the source says.
"Scott is happy for the first time in a long time and Kourtney is happy for him.”
