In October, Amy Roloff and Chirs Marek took photos in a pumpkin patch. It was a heartwarming photoshoot.
But for Thanksgiving, they did something much more personal than taking pictures.
Amy and Chris embarked upon a road trip to eat Thanksgiving with Chris’ family.
Amy Roloff shared a series of photos to document her wonderful Thanksgiving adventure with her boyfriend, Chris Marek.
"Chris and I took a road trip to be with his family in ID for Thanksgiving," Amy’s caption begins.
They shared a couple of photos from spending time downtown in Dayton, Idaho.
Amy continues: "What a great time."
"Again," Amy emphasizes. "I’m truly thankful for so much in my life in all its ups and downs."
She’s had a lot of those, but we’re glad that she enjoyed herself over the holiday.
As is appropriate for Thanksgiving, Amy then begins to itemize the things in her life for which she is so grateful.
"I’m thankful for Chris in my life," Amy notes.
Amy is also thankful for "my kids and grandkids and their extended family."
"And," Amy continues. "I’m thankful for the joy in my heart."
Not everyone is so fortunate, after all.
Amy concludes her list by saying that she is thankful for those things "and all the Lord gives and shows me."
"I’m thankful and blessed," Amy acknowledges.
She is very aware that not everyone is as fortunate or joyful as she is.
"I know this day and holidays can be hard and difficult for some," Amy notes. "And it’s not easy. "
"Hang in there!" she encourages her fans and followers.
"And look around you," she says. "You are worth being thankful for by you."
That’s an odd thing to say, but we understand her meaning.
"Have a wonderful weekend," Amy concludes. "Can’t wait – Christmas is right around the corner."
That’s sure to be encouraging to those of her followers who celebrate Christmas.
In another post, Amy wrote that she misses her kids, but is glad that they were having their own Thanksgivings.
"It reminds me that no matter what projects or other personal things I have going on in my life I have much to be thankful for."
"Why it’s important for me each day to be thankful?" Amy asks.
"Because it starts my day off on the right note," Amy explains.
"My focus is on the Lord," she writes. "For all I am and all I have that is good is from Him and my heart is joyful."
Like a number of her family members, Amy is a devout Christian.
"A joy that comes from within," Amy concludes. "I give thanks."
In yet another post, she gushes about decorating for Christmas.
"Getting my Christmas started today and listening to Christmas carols," Amy writes. "Glory in the highest."
"On a foggy Sunday day sounds like a wonderful afternoon!" Amy continues.
She writes: "Now if I only had hot chocolate and marshmallows or spruced up hot cider. . . HoHoHo."
"The greatest gift of ALL . . . Emanuel (God with us)," she says.
Amy then promises: "Tree is going up next."
"I love Christmas," she concludes.
Good to see that she was enjoying herself, even though she was not with her children.
