For nearly a month now, Jenelle Evans’ status as a Teen Mom has been up in the air.
After she posed for that ridiculous gun selfie shortly after the shooting in Parkland, Florida, and especially after her husband, David Eason, went on that terrible homophobic rant and got himself fired, no one was sure if MTV would be comfortable with employing her any longer.
It seemed like, at long last, they were finally drawing a line .
But apparently everything’s cool now!
According to a new report from The Ashley’s Reality Roundup, Jenelle is going back to filming very, very soon .
And the details are just so, so special …
Where to Start? (Getty) There’s been so much going on with Jenelle for the past month — too much, really. And this time around, she’s not just at risk for losing boyfriends or even more of what little respect a few Teen Mom fans here and there might have for her. She’s been at risk for losing her whole entire job.
Ugh You know this part by now: Jenelle posed for a photo with a gun, she and David shared the photo just a few hours after the school shooting in Parkland, and when people pointed out how insensitive that was, David mocked them.
What a Jackass A few days later, he was still debating gun issues with strangers on Twitter, and in the midst of one argument, he decided to sprinkle a little homophobia in there, just for a little extra awfulness. Then, when that got a reaction, he kept right on getting worse and worse with his hateful, ignorant comments.
A Defense? Jenelle didn’t say much about it all besides making a statement about how David didn’t even really understand how Twitter works, and that he’d be keeping his dumb opinions to himself going forward, but obviously that wasn’t the greatest excuse for what he said.
Justice Somehow, despite Jenelle going to such great lengths to defend her man, sponsors began pulling ads from Teen Mom, and David was promptly fired.
Who’s Next? But despite firing David, some sponsors continued pulling ads, and many people began speculating that firing David wasn’t enough — MTV should fire Jenelle, too.
Not Doing Great Reports claimed that network executives held several meetings to figure out what to do with her, and that she couldn’t get in touch with anyone at all from the show, so she had no idea what was going on.
OK, Girl (Getty Images) She began making some bizarre statements on Twitter, things about how she wouldn’t allow her children to be on the show anymore. She also liked a bunch of tweets about how she should be fired, which doesn’t seem like the smartest move for someone whose job is on the line.
A New Show? She also announced that she’d be releasing her own videos on her YouTube channel, because who needs MTV money, right? Sure, you’d think someone with as many mug shots and as many kids as Jenelle could really use that MTV money, but YouTube is probably fine too.
LOL In what may be the most wacky report about this whole entire mess, one source claimed that Jenelle had hired an entertainment lawyer to negotiate with MTV, and that she asked for extra money for the crew to film on her property. Because everyone knows that when your job is at risk, you ask for MORE money.
The Truth? But even after all that, we still haven’t heard one way or another if Jenelle will be featured on Teen Mom 2 after this upcoming season that’s already been filmed. Until now!
Back at It! According to a production source who spoke with The Ashley’s Reality Roundup, Jenelle hasn’t been fired. And not only has she not been fired, but she’ll be back to work as soon as next week.
Hard at Work “Jenelle is on the books to film next week,” the insider says. “This will be the first time she has filmed since David was fired.”
Yay for No Consequences! (MTV) The source adds that “Jenelle is super relieved,” the source added. “She was terrified she was being fired because no one would talk to her for awhile!”
Great News! And since David’s been fired, crew members don’t want to film at Jenelle’s house, and Kaiser and Ensley won’t be on the show anymore, there’s really just one option for her storyline — that’s right, Barbara’s back in!
Mommy/Daughter Time! (Getty) Although she’s refused to film with her mother recently, she really doesn’t haven an option now, and the source says that “Barbara will be back to filming once Jenelle is. Jace will remain on the show as well.”
Ha! This insider also confirms that Jenelle did ask MTV for more money to film at her home, but it didn’t work out for her because “It really doesn’t make any sense to go to Jenelle’s property at all, let alone pay extra to do so. Plus, a lot of the crew was really upset and downright scared by David’s rants and don’t want to interact with him anymore.”
So Dumb In the future, the insider says that the crew “may have to film there,” but “MTV is not paying extra to do so. No way.” Which makes sense, because that was the dumbest request ever. And since we’re talking about Jenelle Evans here, that’s saying a lot.
Things Are Looking Up (Getty) So Jenelle still has a job, against all odds, MTV has a plan for going forward with her story, even though her husband and the children she has custody of will no longer be on the show. Sounds good! Everything’s good. Everything is totally, 100% good with Jenelle. Totally.
