The 2017 Emmy Awards will air on Sunday, September 17 and will be hosted by Stephen Colbert.

Who will win?

We can’t say anything for certain, except the field will be especially wide open this fall.

This is true not only because there are more quality shows than ever before, but due to one glaring omission.

Because Game of Thrones Season 6 did not premiere until July, it missed the deadline of Emmy eligibility.

No star is nominated in any category this year and the smash hit HBO show cannot repeat as Best Drama.

So the door is wide open for the following actors, actresses and programs. Which of the just-announced nominees will walk excitedly and proudly through it?

We’ll find out in a couple months…
