You’ve heard of dropping the mic before, right?
Well, as you can see below, Barack Obama dropped the cellphone on Jimmy Kimmel Live last night:
For the second time in his Presidency, the Commander-in-Chief read some Mean Tweets about himself as a guest on this ABC talk show.
And they were all pretty funny.
One mocked both his dancing and his infamous dad jeans.
Another mocked what he likely puts on his hot dogs.
Another referred to Obama as the "Nickelback" of President, while yet another questions whether he lifts any weights.
But the best response was most definitely saved for last.
Toward the end of the nearly-two minute segment, Obama read out loud the following Tweet:
“President Obama will go down as perhaps the worst president in the history of the United States!”
See for yourself who wrote it:
How did Obama react to this diss from the embarrassing Republican nominee for President? In the best way humanly possible.
“Well, @realdonaldtrump," he said with a smirk. "At least I will go down as a president."
And, with that, the 55-year old dropped the phone in subtle celebration as the crowd cheered.
During his actual sit-down with Kimmel, however, Obama turned a bit more serious when the subject turned to the election.
"We joke about Trump, but I do think part of the reason you’ve seen Michelle passionate in this election, part of the reason we get involved is not just because Hillary’s going to be a great president, but it’s also because there’s something different about the way Trump has operated in the political sphere,” he said.
“I ran against McCain, against Romney. I thought I could do a better job, but they’re both honorable men.
"And if they won, I wouldn’t worry about generally the course of the country."
The host then asked if Obama would have considered running again if it was permitted under the law.
“If I were able to run for a third term, Michelle would divorce me," Obama replied. "So it’s useful that I don’t have that choice to make.”
"All the women in my life are looking forward to being able to live a more normal life," he added.
Aside from taking jabs at Trump, Obama also spoke glowingly of his hopeful successor.
"It’s about getting policy right and making sure folks are doing a little bit better,” he explained.
“The brand of politics that Hillary represents, which is pragmatic and says that you don’t get everything done at once, you make progress and move pieces at a time, that may not attract as much attention, it’s not something that goes into 140 characters as easily, but I think she will be an outstanding president."
As for folks who are depressed that he’s leaving office?
Obama appreciates their sentiment, but does have a reminder to pass along: he isn’t dying. And neither is his beloved wife.
“Michelle and I will still be alive after three months,” he said.
