Warren Beatty does not typically make celebrity gossip headlines.
The veteran actor is 79 years old and hasn’t starred in a movie since 2001.
We’re guessing you didn’t wake up this morning, clamoring for information on Warren Beatty.
We’re guessing it’s possible many readers out there have not even heard of Warren Beatty, despite the star having an Academy Award to his name.
So, what the heck are we doing writing a story about Warren Beatty?!?
That’s what happens when a rumor surfaces that claims someone has slept with nearly 13,000 women.
In the book "Star: How Warren Beatty Seduced America," author Peter Biskind writes that Beatty has had sexual intercourse with 12,775 members of the opposite sex over his lifetime.
How did Biskind arrive at that exact number? We have no idea.
Why did Beatty wait six years to respond to the rumor? We also have no idea.
But it’s too juicy of an assertion for us to ignore.
"Think about it, sleeping with 12,775 people…that would mean not just that there were multiple people a day, but that there was no repetition," the actor says in the latest issue of AARP The Magazine.
This is Beatty’s way of denying the report, yes.
But it’s pretty hilarious that he has to analyze it, as if the figure isn’t all that far off from his actual number of sexual partners.
Beatty can’t deny, of course, that he’s enjoyed his share of memorable flings and relationships with a long list of well-known names, from supermodel Janice Dickinson… to Madonna… to Diane Keaton… to Carly Simon.
"Look, I never misled anyone," he told the magazine. "And…and I’m a nice guy."
And also a lucky one, it seems!
Beatty met his wife, Annette Bening, in 1992 on the set of the movie Bugsy. They started to date after shooting on the film wrapped.
"During the making of the movie, there was no suggestion as to a future relationship," Beatty tells the magazine. "I mean, there was in my head, but otherwise, no."
Perhaps aware that Bening was familiar with his impressive sexual escapades, Beatty recalls telling his future wife the following:
"You don’t have to worry about me."
However, Bening was equally smooth in her response, according to Beatty:
"She said, ‘Well, I didn’t ask.’"
HA! We love it!
And now we can’t help but ask: What is the number, Warren? Is it closer to 11,775?
