On Jill & Jessa Counting On, it was time to hit the road for a girls getaway weekend, and man alive, what a wild and crazy time was had.
Wild and crazy by Duggar standards, anyway.
Those who watch Jill & Jessa Counting On online know that the focus has shifted increasingly to the next generation of Duggars lately.
Last night, Jill & Jessa Counting On Season 2 Episode 6 was no exception, as Jessa, Anna, Jana, Joy and Jinger took to the open road.
The fab five, plus babies Meredith and Spurgeon, headed to Branson, Missouri, but not before finishing the tree house for the little kids.
With a huge manual labor assist from Joseph and John-David, Jana Duggar coordinated design tips and installed the finishing touches.
They all did a heck of a nice job – more than enough to earn a bonkers, not-at-all-scripted four-day excursion with TLC cameras in tow.
For Jessa, it was a milestone in that she would be leaving husband Ben Seewald for the first time ever. Seriously. Speaking of milestones:
Jill Duggar revealed, via FaceTime from Central America, that her son Israel David Dillard had taken his first steps earlier that night!
Sadly, he wouldn’t repeat the feat on camera. Aww.
Aside from that Jill cameo, the focus was on the five road-trippin’ ladies and the focal point of their conversation seemed to be boys.
Isn’t it always at the end of the day?
Jessa Duggar advised her unmarried sisters to enjoy these single years, since "there are enough guys hanging around" to court anytime.
"You could always be six months from an engagement if you’re single and over 18," Anna Duggar pointed out, with a tinge of sadness.
Sadness for longtime viewers and fans, anyway.
Given what we now know about Josh Duggar, everything is viewed through a tarnished prism of sorts, a fact that is not lost on Anna.
"Josh is about to finish up his program, so I’m really excited," she said, regarding her disgraced husband and his sexual rehab program.
Really excited? Is she trying to convince herself?
"I definitely look back on the past few months and say it’s been a hard road, but it’s been a good road, and I know there’s still a lot of work."
"I think it’s daily [that] there’s going to be a lot of work, and there kind of is a long process ahead, but we’ll just take it one day at a time."
"We just have to keep trusting God and do the next right thing," Anna said, though, "there’s a lot of little steps before it’s where it needs to be."
Like a lot a lot A LOT A LOT of steps.
As for the younger, single ladies’ romantic prospects, Joy-Anna Duggar seeks in a partner "somebody that loves others more than himself."
Asked if she was already sick of being harassed by her sisters about boys, Joy shrugged, "It hasn’t been happening to me for very long."
She’s a catch, so get used to it!
Cinderella Jana Duggar, meanwhile, said she wanted "dirt under the nails" and "I would prefer a hardworking guy versus an office guy."
Are those two things mutually exclusive in their world? Anyway, Jinger Duggar asked Jessa’s advice as far as what things to look for.
The mother of Spurge advised Jinge to court someone "thoughtful" who treats "other people with respect" and is "kind with his words."
At dinner, Jessa reiterated to her siblings, as she has many times in the past, that she and Ben plan to adopt a child as soon as possible.
"Our plan right now is that we’re looking into adoption, and hopefully our next child we be adopted, but you never know," Jessa said.
"God could have something else in mind."
