New Jersey resident Agnes Fenton turned 110 over the weekend, and she says she owes this extraordinary longevity to a surprising elixir:

The Champagne of Beers!

We’ve just begun, but to recap:

  1. Yes, she is really 110 years old (as in a hundred, plus 10), an age reached only an estimated 300-600 in the whole world.
  2. Yes, she credits drinking Miller High Life on the daily, a practice she began nearly seven decades ago and continues now.

Back in the ’40s, her doctor found a benign tumor and gave her this piece of health advice: Drink three Miller High Lifes … daily.

Since then, she’s had three beers and a shot of Johnnie Walker Blue every day, though less recently, due to decreased appetite.

Since becoming a centenarian (100-year-old), Agnes Fenton has become quite the celebrity in her hometown of Englewood, N.J.

Englewood just celebrated “Agnes Fenton Day” on her birthday Saturday – the city’s first Agnes Fenton Day was 10 years ago.

She’s received government proclamations, and birthday greetings from President Barack Obama and Governor Chris Christie.

NVE Bank even tossed its longtime customer a 107th birthday party in conjunction with its own 125th anniversary celebration!

“When I was 100 years old, I went to the mirror to thank God that I was still here. And I thank him every morning,” she said.

“He gave me a long life and a good life, and I have nothing to complain about. You’ve got to have God in your life."

"Without God, you’ve got nothing.”

Okay, true. But without the Champagne of Beers, you won’t be nearly as badass and immortal as this woman. Rock on Agnes.
