When we last saw Mystic Falls, to close out Season 6 in May, it was clear that something had happened this once-quaint little hamlet.
Why was it so dilapidated? So dark? Seemingly so abandoned?
Expect to find out when The Vampire Diaries (sans Nina Dobrev as Elena Gilbert) returns on Thursday, October 8 at 8/7c on The CW.
