An Old Navy patron has gone viral for being proud of her overweight body.
Say hello to Rachel Taylor.
On July 3, she was shopping for some clothing when a teenage girl and her mom picked up a large tank top and mocked its size.
According to Taylor (via Facebook), the daughter said the following:
‘Look! Me and So-and-so can fit in this tank top!,’" to which her mom laughed and replied "‘Yeah, you could! That thing is huge!’"
The shirt in question could fit Taylor, which caused her to leave the store “crying” in shame.
After taking a moment to compose herself, however, Rachel then returned to Old Navy, bought the tank top and took a selfie in the dressing room of her wearing it.
“It turns out, I look fierce in it!” Taylor wrote on Facebook, adding as a message overall: “Be kind. Think about others before you speak. And if someone hurts you, you have to move on.”
In response to this photo, which has been Liked nearly 100,000 times, Old Navy reached out with a surprise:
"Rachel, you are amazing," the company wrote. "We want to celebrate your fierce style by sending you a gift card."
This awesome story reminds us of the time a mother of five stood up to bullies by sharing a picture online of her stretch marks.
You go, ladies!
