Kim Richards is back in rehab, but was it a complete and utter mental collapse – not just addiction – that triggered the star’s return to treatment?
As reported earlier this week, the troubled Kim is out of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills next season, save for the occasional cameo.
Has she lost her sanity in addition to her job?
Before Richards was fired, she checked into a treatment center specializing in psychological disorders, according to a report by Radar.
The Malibu, Calif.-based facility does not specifically deal with addiction woes, which the reality star has long suffered from as well.
Rather, the center says it treats mental issues such as bipolar disorder depression, anxiety, psychotic, narcissistic and schizophrenia.
Kim is back in rehab after a brief period in which she left treatment, reportedly got drunk at her daughter’s wedding, then went AWOL.
While reports of Kim Richards missing may have been overblown, it’s hard to overstate how rough a year of relapses she’s endured.
After being arrested on battery, resisting arrest and intoxication charges following an epic bender in April, the 50-year-old went to rehab.
She left to attend her daughter Brooke’s wedding in Cabo San Lucas, but then relapsed again before checking into the new facility.
Whatever she’s in treatment for, we hope she gets the help she need and emerges stronger than ever, because it’s hard not to worry.
