Three weeks after a social worker called 911 outside the Duggars’ Arkansas home, a state investigation into the family is still active, reports indicate.
Arkansas’ Department of Human Services is involved and the Tontitown Police Department claims the latest ordeal “is a current active investigation.”
On Wednesday, May 27, a DHS worker attempted to check on the welfare of a minor, but was turned away and called 911 outside the Duggar home.
The concerned state employee reported the family’s refusal to let them enter, and the Washington County Sheriff’s Department dispatched two officers.
Though the officers left the home after just 15 minutes, “the Duggar family is being looked at very carefully now,” a police insider told In Touch Weekly.
That tabloid, of course, broke the Josh Duggar molestation scandal.
Thanks to ITW, a 2006 police report came to light last month, exposing Josh as a serial molester who abused his sisters and another girl as a teen.
Jessa and Jill Duggar later came forward and identified themselves as victims, while shifting the blame to the police for leaking the story to the media.
The report was never sealed, however, according to officials.
Though the statute of limitations protected Josh Duggar from prosecution, the new investigation could bring new allegations of abuse or misconduct.
It remains to be seen what the current active investigation will uncover, and it’s far from clear who dispatched DHS to the Duggars’ home and why.
