The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Brandi Glanville says she went through a grieving phase after ex-husband Eddie Cibrian cheated on her.
It was almost as if she had died, she reflects.
Brandi told William Shatner on Ora TV’s Brown Bag Wine Tasting that “he had extra girlfriends, I guess you can say. He had some ladies on the side.”
Aside from LeAnn Rimes, who Cibrian later married after he divorced Glanville, he also had an affair with Vanderpump Rules star Scheana Marie.
An epic Bravo cross-promotional confrontation between Brandi and Scheana resulted in a falling out between Glanville and Lisa Vanderpump.
Anyway, despite Cibrian’s indiscretion(s), Brandi Glanville told Shatner that she attempted to forgive her hubby for cheating … at least initially.
“I tried,” she noted, when she first learned about it, “but when I found out there was more than a couple, I decided I was better off on my own.”
“It’s almost like a death,” Glanville added. “You mourn, you die a little bit. Who you were as a wife and a mother, you’re no longer that person.”
Self-doubt kicked in, she says: “Was I not tall enough? Skinny enough? Are my boobs not big enough? Should I have blue eyes? It was all of that.”
“It took me about a year to figure out that it had nothing to do with me. But it took a while… I was wondering how I could be any better than I was.”
“It made me a better person to go through that,” Glanville says now, with the passage of time. “And to figure out that it had nothing to do with me.”
She’s certainly made the most of it, too.
No one’s suggesting she should be glad Eddie cheated, but if he’s the lowlife she often describes, and made her famous as a result of it?
Lemons, lemonade, all of that.
