Barry Allen found himself in a hairy situation on The Flash Season 1 Episode 21.
Get it? Because he did battle with a giant gorilla??? Trust us. That’s funny.
But while the initial appearance of Grodd was pretty darn cool, we were left with a slightly bitter taste in our Flash-loving mouths this week considering the beast was felled simply by a passing train.
It would have been nice to see the team actually come up with a plan to take Grodd down, as challenging as that would have been.
Elsewhere, a majority of this installment was dedicated to Iris. She knows the truth about Barry, of course, and finally confronted him about it inside S.T.A.R. Labs.
Hi, Barry. Or should I say, The Flash?
Can’t get much more straightforward than that, can you?
Barry tried to come out with a retort after Iris accused him of lying (about EVERYthing), saying she claimed at Christmas that she didn’t share his romantic feelings and, hey, wasn’t that also a lie?!?
We’re not sure if that’s really a comparable lie, but at least the guy is trying.
Finally, Barry confesses his love for Irish, saying she has been with him every day for the past year.
It’s a good speech and it appears to have an effect on Iris, but she doesn’t want to discuss her true feelings until Eddie is found. Fair enough.
Where does that leave us heading into The Flash Season 1 Episode 22?
As the hour comes to a close, we see Wells insert a glowing cylindrical key thing into some hidden “keyhole,” lighting up a long tunnel (the particle accelerator?) that will take him… home?!?
Ummm… okay? Also: GULP!
