If you thought the drama would die down in the days following Bruce Jenner’s Diane Sawyer interview, then you don’t know the Kardashian-Jenner clan.
As you’ve likely heard, Bruce’s family has offered support and spoken publicly of how proud they are of the former Olympian for going public with his lifelong struggle with gender dysphoria, but there’s been some doubt about who supported him all along and who’s just jumping on the bandwagon.
Bruce’s oldest son, Burt Jenner, slammed “fake” supporters on Twitter over the weekend, and it’s widely believed that his criticism was targeted at his former stepmom, Kris Jenner.
Kris declined to comment for the Sawyer special, and unlike the rest of her family, she’s avoided commenting on Bruce’s sex change in the days following the interview.
Sources have said that Kris watched Bruce’s interview for only a few minutes before storming off in a huff.
So it’s not hard to see why Burt is throwing subtle shade (or why everyone assumes that he’s talking about Kris).
As someone whose reputation is her livelihood, this PR disaster is a waking nightmare for Kris, and she’s reportedly reached out to Bruce to get him to put a muzzle on his irate kids.
She’s reportedly unhappy not only about the Burt tweets, but about Brody Jenner throwing shade at Kim Kardashian on social media.
Sources say Kris called Bruce for the first time since the interview yesterday, and the conversation did not go well.
“The phone call was very, very heated. It was mainly Bruce listening to Kris’ threats to go negative in the press against Brody and Burt if they didn’t stop with the social media posts targeting her and her children.
“She simply won’t tolerate it, but Bruce just calmly said, ‘Call them directly’ and hung up the phone. Bruce doesn’t have time for Kris’ drama.”
As for Bruce’s kids, it seems they’re no more afraid of Kris than he is.
“They simply won’t apologize to her, or back down,” reveals the source. “They only deleted the posts because they didn’t want to detract attention from the subject matter [of their father’s interview].”
