It’s the day 19 Kids and Counting fans have long been waiting for:
Just moments ago, Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar announced on their Facebook page that their eldest daughter, Jana Duggar, is finally engaged!
“We never pressured her and we never lost faith,” Michelle wrote, adding, “We also never thought Jana would ‘break away’ from her family like some of y’all have said.”
“Jana has finally met the man of her dreams and we can’t wait for y’all to meet him too.”
Little is known about the man who captured Jana’s heart, but it’s not hard to see why her parents are so excited.
Not only will he fit right in with a first name that starts with “J,” he’s already a member of a famous (and famously fertile) Christian family.
Jedediah “Jed” Rivers, is a distant cousin of San Diego Chargers quarterback Philip Rivers. Quite the coincidence, as Jana was rumored to be dating Tim Tebow last year.
“We had to laugh when the Tebow rumors started,” Michelle wrote on Facebook. “Jana had already met Jed and we knew they would end up together from the first time they side-hugged.”
There’s no word on how long Jana and Jed have been an item or when they’ll wed, but you can be sure they’ve been following the Duggar rules of courtship.
