In late 2013, 16-year-old foster child Davion Only broke hearts around the nation when he recorded himself on video, pleading for a new home.

Now, his wishes have come true.

In the 2013 video, assertively in front of the congregation, Only said, "My name is Davion and I’ve been in foster care since I was born. I know God hasn’t given up on me. So I’m not giving up either."

After the video went viral, 10,000 people responded to Davion. And on April 22, sweet Davion will be officially adopted.

What makes Davion’s story even sweeter is that this isn’t a random family adopting him.

Connie Bell Going, who has been his case worker since Davion was just a 7-year-old boy, is adopting him.

The road to finding his new home has not been without trouble.

After the video went viral, he moved to Ohio to live with a minister.

Sadly, just a few months later, he got into brawl with the man and another child and was back in the Florida foster care system.

He had been in four different homes and four schools in a year before he took matters into his own hands again.

Davion called Going and said, "Hey … Miss Connie … it’s me. Do you remember what I asked you before?” He asked her to adopt him.

Davion began spending more time with Going and her family. By December, Going rented a new house, got a lawyer, and passed the home study.

Since then, Only has lived with Going. "I guess I always thought of you as my mom," Davion told Going. "Only now I get to call you that for real, right?"

If we didn’t love Davion enough already, he pulls at our heartstrings even more with his 3.1GPA at an online high school.

He hopes to get a job in the fall, transfer to a traditional high school, and start boxing.

This couldn’t be a better story to start our Monday!
