Even before Bruce Jenner was photographed in a dress, this was shaping up to be a banner week for the celebrity and his stunning gender transition.
Jenner is opening up in his much-anticipated interview with Diane Sawyer, and in this new sneak preview, he acknowledges what a roller coaster it will be.
The upcoming two-hour sit-down between the acclaimed ABC journalist, 69, and the Olympic legend, 65, airs tomorrow (Friday) night. Here’s the latest teaser:
The ad opens with a shot of Sawyer embracing Jenner, who is threatening to sue the paparazzi for the aforementioned dress pics, before they begin.
"It’s going to be an emotional roller coaster, but somehow I’m gonna get through it," Jenner says of his life-changing journey, with emotion in his voice.
The camera then pans to shots of Jenner’s many children and stepchildren.
Bruce has four adult children from his two marriages: Cassandra and Burt, with Chrystie Crownover, and Brandon and Brody, with Linda Thompson.
He is also seen cozying up to the huge Kardashian-Jenner clan; Bruce has two daughters, Kylie and Kendall Jenner, by his third wife Kris Jenner.
That’s on top of his four famous stepchildren. He says the kids (and stepkids) aren’t just his biggest concern in all of this, they’re all that matters to him.
"Those are the only ones I’m concerned with," Bruce says of his children, who he clearly cherishes and loves so dearly. "I can’t let myself hurt them."
How will they react to their father becoming a woman?
Bruce, who has dodged questions about his speculative transition from a man to a woman for months if not years, is expected to tell all in the interview.
It sounds like much is still unwritten right now, however. In the final shots of the promo, he leans forward to Sawyer, and wonders about what’s ahead.
"I wanna know how this story ends, you know?" he says, perhaps implying there may be more questions than answers. "How does my story end?"
We’ll most certainly be watching tomorrow night to get his take on this latest chapter – at least whatever he’s willing to make public from it – on ABC.
