TJ Maxx has yanked an offensive T-shirt from its shelves, reacting quickly to online backlash over an article of clothing that features a noose on the front.

Its accompanied by the words "HANG LOOSE."

The item was brought to the attention of the store by a Twitter user with the handle “@PsychoGF_,” who posted a photo of the shirt, along with the straightforward message:

"It is absolutely sickening that @tjmaxx thinks it’s okay to sell a shirt like this."

She noticed the apparel at a location in Kissimmee, Florida.

To the store’s credit, it immediately responded to the above Tweet with a question and a concern.

"@PsychoGF_ We would like to make certain this is addressed. What store location did you see this shirt at?" the official TJ Maxx Twitter account wrote back.

We believe the offensive T-shirt has now been removed from all TJ Maxx shelves.

Over the past several months, Urban Outfitters has gotten into the most trouble with clothing items such as this.

That chain has stirred up controversy via shirts emblazoned with phrases that seem to promote anorexia, along with a blood-splattered Kent State sweatshirt we still can’t believe ever existed.

It will be challenging, however, for any retailer to ever top the American Apparel Vagina Shirt.
