Alicia Florrick had simultaneously a great day and a terrible day on The Good Wife Season 6 Episode 13.
She helped a client win his lawsuit and she convinced a donor to give her $1 million for her State’s Attorney campaign.
So… how can that constitute a bad day?
Because the client was Colin Sweeney, who sees a dark side in the supposed Good Wife and who, let’s face it, killed his wife. No matter what a jury said awhile back.
In this case, he sued a television show for defamation because he believed a fictional character (who also killed his wife) was based on him and his sordid story.
Cary and Diane took lead in court, but it was Alicia’s advice (as well as her keen eye) that helped Sweeney earn an apology from the TV show.
So, yes, Alicia and the firm won. But how much do you celebrate this kind of victory?
Even more troubling for Alicia, she asked a billionaire (played by Ed Asner) for a donation. And he agreed because he hates "fags," believes Frank Prady to be one and because Alicia’s PAC sent out a fake message to conservatives that made it sound as if Prady was a proponent of gay marriage.
Alicia did not approve of the fake message before he went out and she insisted it get taken down… but she still accepted this man’s money, despite being well aware of his despicable belief system.
Prady approached Alicia toward the end of the hour and, although it was never spoken explicitly, it seems clear he knows Alicia took what amounts to some dirty money.
No wonder she cried to hard into her daughter’s arms to conclude the episode, as you’ll see when you watch The Good Wife online.
Elsewhere, Kalinda owed Lemond Bishop a favor. So she agreed to drive his son home from school each day for two weeks.
She was later forced to tell him that a bully beat Dylan up, but was impressed when the drug dealer appeared to handle it with a simple phone call to the boy’s father.
Will things turn a lot uglier for him on The Good Wife Season 6 Episode 14? And for Alicia? We’ll be tuning in to find out!
