Madonna has given Kanye West the highest compliment she can muster about another human being.

While promoting her new album, "Rebel Heart," the Material Girl told The New York Daily News over the weekend that Mr. Kim Kardashian reminds her of someone with serious talent and influence.

"Kanye is the new Madonna," Madonna said. "Kanye is the black Madonna."

What prompted Madonna to make such a comparison?

"We know, and recognize, that we have that in common. We’re comrades in the envelope-pushing genre," she replied.

Madonna and Kanye are certainly known as much for their antics and their scandals as they are for their chart-topping singles.

West recently apologized to Beck for saying the singer did not deserve Album of the Year at the Grammys – and Madonna admits she likely should have issued some mea culpas in her past as well.

"I’m only human," she told the publication. "I’d like to get to the point where nothing can shake me. Sometimes I’m there, sometimes I’m not."

Also like Kanye, however, Madonna is about to back down. Not even at her supposedly advanced age.

"People have always judged me, and given me s–t about one thing or another. Now they’re giving me s–t about age," she says. "It’s bulls–t. And mostly I hear it from women. I feel I should be hearing support—like, ‘Good for you.’"

Concludes the star, who recently compared France to Nazi Germany:

"I earned my stripes. Bitch, I’m Madonna. And that’s it."
