Last month, Kate Gosselin was investigated by Child Services for allegedly mistreating her son Colin.
Some would say the government intervention was a long time coming, as Kate "the Monster Mom" has long been a subject of harsh criticism from parenting experts, mommy bloggers, and casual Kate Plus 8 fans, alike.
Now, Kate wants to address her critics directly, and what better venue than the reality show that made her famous….and infamous:
"To a degree, I try not to let it bother me," Gosselin tells Kate Plus 8 cameras in the above clip. "I ignore a lot of it because I’m busy.
"To this handful of people who have decided to devote their lives to hating me: I feel bad for them. I mean, what a sad sorry life to try to take down another individual. I mean, do you really think you have an effect on my life? You don’t."
Of course, Kate doesn’t directly address claims that she had kids to become famous and was – for some reason – surprised when the task of raising right children proved to be more than she could handle.
But hey, maybe she’ll answer to that accusation in a different forum – like when she’s inevitably hauled into court for being a terrible, abusive mother.
