Another day, another Duggar controversy arising from a seemingly harmless situation. It’s all the same … only the names of the Duggar family members change.
Wait until you hear how Jana and Jinger are caught up in this latest one …
During a recent family vacation in Texas, Jana Duggar, 25, and Jinger Duggar, 21, were snapped standing directly outside a men’s public restroom.
Seemingly upset that they had to utilize the filthy space, Jinger’s facial expression – alongside Jana’s perpetually happy, undaunted face – is hilarious.
Critics of the 19 Kids and Counting clan were not laughing, however.
Haters were quick to bounce on what they apparently felt was blatant hypocrisy, given the girls’ mother Michelle Duggar’s political actions last year.
As you may recall, Michelle recorded a controversial robo-call phone message campaigning against a anti-discrimination bill in their home state of Arkansas.
The legislation would’ve allowed transgender men and women to use the public bathroom of their choice. Michelle doggedly fought and helped defeat this.
The Duggar family matriarch said of this issue at the time:
“I doubt that [parents] would stand for a law that would endanger their daughters or allow them to be traumatized by a man joining them in their private space."
Fast forward to this week, and critics of the family noted that if a man can’t use women’s restrooms … why can Jinger and Jana Duggar do the reverse?
Completely absurd controversy to create based on this one photo of Jana and Jinger? Absolutely. Talk about looking for a reason to troll somebody.
The Duggars aren’t averse to stirring the pot themselves, however.
Michelle’s arguments against transgender rights, some might say, are equally outrageous, so it’s not surprising that the critics came out in force here.
The family has always been extremely vocal in its conservative views, even in situations where you wouldn’t think the circumstances would call for it.
Jessa Duggar famously used the Holocaust to advocate her pro-life views, while Anna Duggar used Black History Month to attack abortion this year.
Anna and Josh Duggar, the first-born of Michelle’s 19 Kids and Counting, have also been vocal opponents of same sex marriage and same sex adoption.
Just last week, Anna criticized gay adoptions by way of re-tweeting an article from a woman raised by same sex partners – and saying how they don’t cut it.
As long as they go out of their way to voice their views – whatever you think of them – on such polarizing topics, expect their haters to hit back hard.
