Who can you trust?
That was the main question posed on The Originals Season 2 Episode 12.
Klaus, for instance, does not believe he can trust Jackson. For that reason, he ventured to the bayou and sought to kill Hayley’s future husband before he learned the secret of Hope’s existence.
But Hayley jumped in before the deed could be done, standing strong and making it clear to her baby daddy that she did, indeed, trust Jackson.
So Klaus gave the union his reluctant blessing. Later, however, he spoke with Elijah on the phone and said he’ll let the wedding take place. Perhaps a united werewolf front, under Hayley’s control, can help protect Hope.
However, at a later date, once the werewolves can control when they turn, he will take Jackson (who does now know about Hope, courtesy of his fiancee) out.
Elsewhere, Kol tried to distract Finn to Davina and Aiden could sneak in and rescue Aiden and Marcel.
Finn is a smart, distrustful witch, however. He was on to his brother and he punished him for his duplicitous actions, cursing Kol to remain in his mortal body forever and die a slow death. Uh-oh!
Aiden was at least able to sneak away with Josh, but Finn had Marcel tied up and tortured and determined that Hope was still alive, something Marcel himself had been compelled to forget.
Toward the end of the hour, as you’ll see when you watch The Originals online, Finn told Marcel him and his vampires would help him find the baby.
Finally, we get to Rebekah: she was determined to break out of the insane witch asylum and she found an unlikely ally in some new witch on the premises.
Rebekah was nice to her, giving her an apple she stole and then coming to her defense when the Kindred caught the newbie with the apple. And Rebekah’s kind act paid off:
We closed the episode with this new witch using some extreme powers to take out all the Kindred supernaturals and then easily get her and Rebekah out of there. She then revealed her identity to Rebekah:
Yup, it’s Freya!
She just awoke from a 100-year slumber and she has plans to visit her brothers soon. We love it! And we can’t wait for The Originals Season 2 Episode 13 to air next Monday!
