WWE fans smelled what The Rock was cooking last night.

Because, finally, this mega huge wrestling superstar returned to Philadelphia!

Indeed, the company aired its second-biggest pay-per-view of the year last night, the Royal Rumble, with arguably its biggest name EVER making a shocking appearance in the ring.

After Roman Reigns entered the contest at number-19 (eliminating both Dusts, Gold and Star, at one point), he ended up in a final five that pitted The Shield against The Authority, with Rusev also angling for a title shot at Wrestlemania.

After Big Show and Kane eliminated Ambrose, they started to push each other, giving Reigns the opening to toss both over the top rope.

But the giants regrouped and came back to beat down Reigns… until The Rock sprinted in to save him!

Reigns then eliminated Rusev and earned himself a main event match against… Brock Lesnar!

Earlier in the night, Lesner defeated John Cena and Seth Rollins in a triple threat, no disqualification, no count out match for the belt.

In other, non-title/non-Royal Rumble match results:

  • Cesaro and Tyson Kidd (with Natalya and Adam Rose) defeated The New Day (Big E and Kofi Kingston) (with Xavier Woods).
  • The Ascension (Konnor and Viktor) defeated The New Age Outlaws (Road Dogg and Billy Gunn),
  • The Usos (Jimmy Uso and Jey Uso) defeated The Miz and Damien Mizdow to retain the Tag Team title.
  • In a Total Divas tag battle, The Bella Twins (Brie Bella and Nikki Bella) defeated Paige and Natalya.

So, you tell us, THGers: are you excited for a Brock Lesnar-Roman Reigns main event at Wrestlemania 31, which will air live from San Francisco on Sunday, March 29?
