Last week, we reported that Rosie Perez had quit The View after just four months as a co-host.
Several outlets reported that Rosie had been fired from the show as a result of her inability to get along with the rest of the cast.
Now, it seems neither is the case, and Rosie will return to the roundtable as soon as she’s done with her current month-long hiatus.
Perez’ co-cost Rosie O’Donnell shared the news with viewers on the show this morning:
Perez and Nicolle Wallace were just hired by producers in September, so it seemed curious that Rosie’s time on the show would be over so soon.
Explanations ranged from her inability to read a Teleprompter to stress brought about by her constantly bickering co-hosts.
Casting issues are nothing new on The View, as producers have famously been unable to achieve the mix of talent similar to the show’s early days, during which the hosts proved capable of both bringing in viewers and getting along with one another.
The current cast has only been in place since the start of this season and already, there have been rumors of in-fighting and requests for terminated contracts.
Just last month, it was reported that Rosie O’Donnell is on her way out, and weeks later the rumors of Perez’s departure surfaced.
It’s become clear that it’s impossible to predict who will stay and who will go on The View, and we suspect that’s the case for the show’s producers and co-hosts as well.
Fortunately, that instability allows us to play our favorite View-related game: Who’s The Next Replacement?
