A mystery man has become a viral sensation after learning about – and then live blogging – his wife’s extramarital affair on the online bulletin board Reddit.
The man, fittingly known only as MyLifeSuxNow, began posting about his partner cheating, and soon enough, his prose was read by tens of thousands.
He began the real-life drama with the sentence: "My wife is cheating on me as evidenced by filthy text messages. I know but she doesn’t know that I do."
The user explained he had been happily married to her for eight years and had never had a major argument with his wife, who he names as "Jenny."
He reveals that he discovered Jenny’s cheating ways when he looked at messages on her phone. The man wrote, to no one and everyone at the same time:
"Second to the top of the list of conversations was a [guy] named Zack."
"To my horror, there was sexually explicit talk of what he wanted to do to Jenny. What a filthy beast. I scroll up, and there are multiple nudes from both of them."
Naturally, he then stole her phone and hacked into her email and Facebook accounts to further document the tryst between his wife and her lover.
"I feel like someone has shot me in the stomach," he laments.
"Should I tell her I know? Should we split and divorce right away? Goddammit I loved her. I have screen shotted the texts and emailed them to myself."
The man, who claims he has an infidelity clause in a prenuptial agreement with his wife, says he was gathering evidence to present to a divorce lawyer.
He then proceeded to share some of it with the Internet.
"Goddammit she’s on her phone texting in the bathroom. I can hear the send button being pressed over and over," he said of his non-stealthy spouse.
"It’s probably nudes and sexy talk. Jeesus this hurts."
The following day, he hired someone to track her movements and further establish what he’d already proven, writing: "Private Investigator is tailing them now."
"He’s got a camera that zooms and takes high quality pics from ridiculously far away, an assortment of high quality dash cams, and handheld recorders."
According to the Reddit rant, his wife was caught kissing another man … before his brother’s wife and another stranger become entangled in this saga.
It appears this finally made the scorned husband snap.
"I can’t type for more than a minute or two, but it isn’t great," he said, clearly implying that he had at last outed her cheating ways and had it out with her.
"Yelling, anger, sadness, crying, a ton of crying, pleading, explaining, contradicting. This isn’t a great place to be. I’ll update when I’m at my buddy’s house, it’ll be a while."
"Sorry I couldn’t update sooner. Nobody is hurt at all," he later added. "You guys are having a great time reading I bet, this is the worst time of my life."
He was right. A staggering 15,000 people commented on the post, and countless more surely saw excerpts or stories about it after the story went viral.
His last update read, "Thank you all for the support these past few days, it has meant a lot to me. I’ll post an update on what happens with the divorce lawyer."
We can only hope for a live blog of their breakup, too …
