Patrick Jane refused to call in sick on The Mentalist Season 7 Episode 4.
Looking pathetically adorable while wrapped in a blanket and curled up on the couch, Jane helped Lisbon take on the role of crime-solving psychic this week.
It was another precious step in their evolving relationship. And it was a blast to watch!
Jane’s illness also allowed other team members to step into the spotlight, most notably Kimball Cho.
He was ordered by Abbott to bring Agent Vega into the fold and, even though she’s inexperienced… and over-eager… and can be dismissive toward Wiley, this was the proper call.
Vega was set on gaining Cho’s trust throughout the hour, although she didn’t grasp the concept that trust must be earned.
Apologizing is the easy part. Cho tried to point this out to his partner, especially after Vega thought a simple trust fall would solve everything.
Vega, you fall right now you’re going to hit the floor, Cho responded.
As for Abbott, we can’t be the only ones wondering when we’ll learn what happened on the Rio Bravo task force, can we?
Heck, he tried to separate from Lena this week, supposedly for her own good. She saw through it at least, but the mystery only deepened for viewers.
Finally, we closed the installment with Jane back in his Airstream. He actually asked Lisbon if she wanted to simply leave or if she preferred to spend the rest of her life as an FBI agent.
Can you imagine this conversation having taken place last season?!? These two have come so very far.
We’re intrigued for certain, but doesn’t Jane have murder charges hanging over him? And doesn’t Lisbon adore what she does for a living?
Was Jane even serious about this offer? Or slightly off his rocker due to his illness?
The possibility certain raises the stakes for the rest of The Mentalist Season 7, doesn’t it?
