One of Hollywood’s best looking and most charitable actors celebrates a birthday today.
Ian Somerhalder is 36 years old!
Currently filming The Vampire Diaries Season 6, the star is also romantically involved with former Twilight Saga beauty Nikki Reed.
This relationship hasn’t sat well with fans of Nina Dobrev, which has prompted the outspoken Somerhalder to defend Reed in a number of online messages, referring to Reed and magic and beautiful and telling haters to step off.
Somerhalder is nothing if not passionate, folks. It’s why so many people adore him.
The 36-year old got his major break by playing the character of Boone on Lost, though he was killed off Season 1.
He then laded the role of Damon Salvatore on The Vampire Diaries and the rest of viral/hot/popular/suspenseful history.

Somerhalder has also created The Ian Somerhalder Foundation, an organization he espouses in many interviews and one that is “aims to empower, educate and collaborate with people and projects to positively impact the planet and its creatures,” according to the official website.
