The first trailer for the highly-anticipated sequel/reboot Jurassic World was supposed to be released over the holiday weekend, but for some reason, Universal decided to offer up this Thanksgiving treat ahead of schedule.
Fortunately, it’s every bit as delicious as we’d hoped.
If you had doubts that our first glimpse of JW would live up to the hype generated by yesterday’s teaser trailer, we have eight words for you: giant sea creature dinosaur devouring a freaking shark!
Yes, there’s an awful lot to like here, and we’re not just talking about the flawlessly-rendered prehistoric beasts.
In addition to Bryce Dallas Howard as the resident sexy scientist, we’ve got post-Guardians of the Galaxy Chris Pratt as yet another gruff badass.
Dude’s come a long way since starting out as Park and Rec’s lovable doofus Andy Dwyer. Now he can actually pull off lines like, "Depends what kind of dinosaur they cooked up in that lab," without being too unintentionally hilarious.
Of course, the real stars here are the big lizards. Seems this time around there’s some killing machine hybrid-dino who’s effing the island up, and making peeps wish they’d never found out that DNA mosquito.
The film almost seems to have a sort of horror movie tone that aims more scares than for the CG’ed "wow" moments of the first movie. Although, we’re sure Spielberg and company didn’t skimp on the jaw-dropping effects.
Sadly, Jurassic World doesn’t hit theaters until June of 2015.
