He may have won Dancing with the Stars Season 19 due to his moves on the dance floor, Alfonso Ribeiro still feels like he’s floating in the air right about now.
The actor spoke to Us Weekly not long after his DWTS victory last night, expressing utter consternation over the outcome.
“I was kind of in shock!” Ribeiro said upon hearing his name called. “I almost fell to my knees right there because it was so amazing. And what a happy moment. We so did not expect that.
“I said to [partner] Witney [Carson] right before, ‘Be prepared to hear Mark [Ballas] and Sadie.”
But while Sadie Robertson was impressive, Ribeiro remained a fan favorite from Day One.
“We stayed our course the entire time,” the star said of why he won. “We said, ‘Let’s get out there, do the best we can that week, and not worry about what’s coming next and what happened before. And that just kept us in the moment…We were in it, and it was a great experience.”
Ribeiro also gave thanks to his partner, who helped the pair earn give perfect scores throughout the season and said he’s excited to go on the Dancing with the Stars tour.
But, first, a vacation with his pregnant wife is in order.
“We’re going to Hawaii! We’re going to lay on the beach. It’s our next babymoon. We went to Hawaii last time for a babymoon and we loved it.
