Rick opened The Walking Dead Season 5 Episode 2 by telling Tara that they were all good, her past connection to The Governor be damned. They even sealed their new friendship with a fist bump.

Tyreese, meanwhile, tried to make Carol feel better about killing Karen, saying everyone will come to accept the deed as a necessity. Rick even told her later on that he owes her “everything.”

She’s very much back within the group now.

Bob and Sasha were then playing a game of “Find the Good in the Bad” when they heard cries of help from Seth Gilliam’s Father Gabriel. Could the survivors trust this man of God?

They had their doubts, considering Gabriel claimed to have killed no people and no walkers, revealing very little about himself because he confesses to the Lord, not to a bunch of strangers.

With his crew taking refuge in Gabriel’s church, Rick went on a supply run with Michonne, Bob, Sasha, Glenn, Maggie, Tara and Gabriel.

They found some walkers in a pool of rainwater, as Gabriel found himself by a zombie who viewers later learned was a former parishioner. He had to be saved again by Rick.

(Elsewhere, Daryl and Carol came across a possible getaway car if things at the church turn tour, while the former urged the latter to let go of the past. She said it isn’t easy.)

Back inside the church now: Carl showed his dad knife marks that made it appear as if someone had tried to get in. Denied entrance, this person had carved “You’ll burn for this” in the wood.

So Rick took it upon himself to warn Gabriel that this is his family. The priest does NOT want to find out what will happen if anyone harms his family.

After bonding with Maggie, Tara admitted that she had been part of the Governor’s attack on the prison .

“I just didn’t want it to be hidden,” Tara said of her role in Hershel’s death, to which Maggie embraced her and replied: “You’re here with us now.”

Daryl then found Carol back at the getaway car (it’s unclear why) and they both spotted a car with a giant cross on it.

“They got Beth!” screamed Daryl, and the duo went off in pursuit.

Bob also left the church gathering for a bit and was knocked out cold for his effort. We then see him tied up in front of a fire and Gareth telling him it’s not personal and then… yup! We see the Terminus folks are EATING BOB’S CALF!
