Kim Gravel is back for Kim of Queens Season 2 Episode 1, and on the Lifetime show’s sophomore campaign opener, added two more girls to her roster.
Hannah, Marah and Addison are all strong competitors, yes, but with Rayven and Adia in the mix, their Miss Teen Dream dreams are anything but assured.
The major takeaway from Kim of Queens Season 2 Episode 1, however, was Adia making the Pageant Pros team after her very impressive auditions.
How impressive? Impressive enough to earn a full scholarship to the school, that’s how impressive. But it’s a story that involves its share of heartache, too.
Her poor mother just lost her job. And her home. So brutal.
Adia is still reeling from those life changes, and the fact that she lacks the traditional body, air of composure and attitude of the other girls is refreshing.
She’s got sass for days, though. Gumption. Grit. Passion.
Seeing her take Adia under her wing for free is reason enough to watch Kim of Queens online. Say what you will about Gravel, she is not all talk.
Without the competitiveness, there’s no show. We know this. Same with Dance Moms or anything else like it. But there’s still lots of heart to go around.
As for the new additions to the team this week?
Rayven, a more experienced competitor than some Kim has, blew away the audience and the judges with her voice performing our National Anthem.
Kim is pushing for more diversity in the group, clearly, and with Marah getting the chop, she has four confident, talented girls to continue on next week.
Marah’s health was a concern, as Kim didn’t want to put her at risk, but her mother’s gratingly overbearing antics certainly didn’t help her chances.
