Kevin Hart went from beloved, but little-known standup comic to in-demand movie star pretty much overnight, and now it’s beginning to look as though the the transition went to his head.
The bad behavior started last year when Hart was arrested for DUI. Shortly thereafter, he did the unthinkable and started hanging out with Justin Bieber.
Now, Hart has reportedly committed the cardinal sin of the up-and-coming star by acting as though he’s too good for his die hard fans.
“Kevin Hart was supposed to do a ‘meet and greet’ with a group of young fans this weekend following a speech where he donated backpacks to the children,” says a rep for the Comsopolitan Hotel in Vegas. “However, he ditched the kids and was a complete jerk about it!”
Another insider adds that Hart was “rude to the staff at the Cosmopolitan Hotel and unapologetic to his fans.”
The insult is especially bad as Hart received the keys to the city in an on-stage ceremony, and had reportedly “promised” organizers that he would take some time to meet with the kids on hand.
“The kids were so excited to meet him and after all that people did for him here, he not only cuts his show short, but also doesn’t take the time to acknowledge the kids who traveled from all over to meet him,” says one witness.
