It’s incredible but true:

We have actual music news on Justin Bieber!

The singer, who has made headlines over the past few weeks for getting back together with Selena Gomez and getting arrested in Canada for assault, will soon be releasing a new album with Cody Simpson.

“It is a smack bang duets [album],” Simpson told the Sydney Daily Telegraph over the weekend. “Justin has been a good mate of mine for a while. It’s just us writing.”

Earlier this summer, photos of Bieber and Simpson in the recording studio surfaced, with the latter saying at the time that a “special project” was in the works.

Simpson opened for Bieber during his “Believe” tour in 2012 and 2013.

No release date for the album has been announced, but Simpson did give the aforementioned newspaper and idea of how the collaboration will go. Said Cody:

“He told me he felt like I’d figured myself out and have grown into what he knows I will be, so he was like, ‘I see you as that guitarist, singer, songwriter you’ve always wanted to be.’ I play all the guitars on the album.”

Sounds good to us. We’re just happy to see Justin Bieber working on music instead of working on his right cross at the expense of a photographer.
