Last week, Joan Rivers passed away after complications from a surgical procedure caused the 81-year-old comic to lapse into a coma.
Rivers’ funeral was held over the weekend and was every bit the star-studded affair that she had hoped for in her recent memoirs and final interviews.
In fact, Joan talked about her last hurrah so extensively, and her family was so committed to honoring her wishes that it’s now rumored that Melissa Rivers and others in charge of coordinating the event gave the security detail a list of famous faces who were not to be admitted.
In one of her final interviews, Joan told The New York Times Magazine that there several celebs that she specifically did not want attending her funeral for various reasons:
She stated that she didn’t want Michelle Obama on hand because she’s “a tranny,” while Adele and Chelsea Handler were to be barred from the ceremony for being “fat” and a “drunk whore,” respectively.
Of course, Joan was probably joking, but it’s tough to tell in a print interview.
There’s no confirmation that those were the names on Rivers’ funeral blacklist, but sources say such a list did, indeed, exist.
