Having already come out and shot down talk of infidelity, Jason Derulo has now elaborated on his recent split from Jordin Sparks.

The couple, who dated for about three years, shocked the celebrity gossip universe with its break-up last week, but Derulo says the end didn’t come about due to anything especially sordid or scandalous.

“I’m not one to throw my business out on the street, but I thought it was important because things are getting a little out of hand,” Derulo said in calling up Ryan Seacrest on the radio yesterday.

Did he really cheat with Carmen Ortega? Is his schedule to blame? Is anyone pregnant?!?

No. No. And no.

“In a nutshell, there was a lot of tension in the relationship for a lot of different reasons,” Derulo explained. “There was a lot of pressures of marriage. There was a lot of arguing and stuff like that that just weighed on our relationship over time.

“When you stop having more good times than bad times, it’s time to call it quits. It becomes something that is unhealthy.”

Wait, so a famous couple can break up for pretty normal reasons? Just like a regular couple? No way!

“To be fair, it was not just from her either,” the singer said of the pressure to get hitched. “It was kind of from everybody. That’s not the sole reason, but it definitely played a part.”

So, are the two now on good terms? Derulo said he wouldn’t use those exact words, but:

“There’s no bad blood. We didn’t end off on a weird way or a negative way. It’s not like we’re hitting each other up, like, ‘Hey, what are you doing today?'”

So, again, in other words, Jordin Sparks and Jason Derulo are like any other relatively normal couple who ended a relationship and are now sort of okay, but also sort of awkward.

That’s pretty boring for our purposes as a gossip site. But also pretty cool if you think about it.
