Apollo Nida is no longer a free man.

The former Real Housewives of Atlanta star and soon-to-be-ex-husband of Phaedra Parks has turned himself in to authorities today to begin serving an eight year sentence in federal prison.

Nida pled guilty to fraud back in May, and though he was able to have his sentence and fines reduced in exchange for “cooperating with authorities” (snitching), he’ll still be locked up for most of the next decade and forced to pay $2 million in restitution.

Apollo and Phaedra’s relationship went downhill in the months following his conviction, with Nida publicly admitting that Parks didn’t even come to his sentencing.

Apollo apparently decided to return the favor by blowing off Phaedra and their two children for his last two months as a free man.

Parks has spoken in the past about Nida’s love of strip clubs in the past, but it now seems as though Apollo loves the night life even more than previously reported.

TMZ reports that Apollo spent just about all of his time and money on strippers and booze over the past months.

At first, Phaedra reportedly encouraged him to visit with his children, but he lashed out at her to the point that she feared physical abuse.

The couple has apparently not spoken at all during the last week of Nida’s freedom. Now, of course, he’s in danger of becoming someone else’s real housewife.
